The Former Me Meme
This time, taking up the challenge from Lori is a bit more difficult. She's asking to reach back to the time when we were about nine. I was nine in communist Poland, and this is pretty much what things looked like:

We had some limited exposure to western delights. What I did for fun with my friends is to vicariously enjoy thrills like this, purchased at the black market:

Some of us had access to things like this, which were reluctantly shared:

And some lucky ones even enjoyed this:

You NEVER, EVER wanted to upset them for any reason.
You may be surprised to know that although ABBA reigned supreme at the time,

we were also exposed to things that were a bit more risque,

and downright sexy.

And in my purse might have been a nearly unattainable at the time Polish passport:

I was a little over thirteen. I missed the event of the time, the Blizzard of '79 by mere days, and hence am not entitled to wear this button:
Well, and then here I was. In the morning, I watched shows like this (still do):
In the evening, I watched these:
And, when my high school freshman class was chosen for the welcoming party, I got to shake hands with this man:
Long live the American Dream.
Thanks, Lori. I needed that.

that is so cool- thanks Justyna!!
