Here, here, sistah! I fall in to the exact same middle zone as you on limits. I think what it does is help kids learn that we are all human, that humans can be flexible as well as make mistakes, that we honor all humans POV and that we give a little credence to the concept of seniority as far as exercising experiential wisdom in decision making. Those are things that are natural in society as well as the family and will help anyone in the long run.
